Got it for an amazing price and want to use it mainly for my computer and eventually use it for home theater, my question is should i buy a cheap receiver or buy powered computer speaker's? i have regular stereo speakers but they wont work cause they have the wrong cable.

if you get the right wire (male aux to rca) you can hook the auxiliary end up to the computer and the RCA end up to the rca inputs on the back of the sub. from there you can hook a set of powered speakers up to the rca outputs on the back of the sub using (most likely) a female auxiliary wire to rca

you don't necessarily need a receiver, but yes most computer speakers are powered - they just need an audio signal (of course...)
